Hello!

New smoker here in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Just picked up an entry level duel fuel Masterbuilt Smoker and am looking to try this out. I just made an amazing whole chicken the other night with no problems, so I'm on to the next recipe.

I also got myself a thermopro dual probe wireless thermometer that already has proved to be the best investment yet. The probe with the smoker was kind of useless.

Hi there and welcome, lots of guys just joined in the past 24 hours so your input on the probes would be very helpful for them to learn about from a new member like you if they hadn't considered it yet.

Great looking chicken.  What wood did you smoke with?

Hey TallBM,

Thanks for the welcome. I used Applewood. The probes are the TP08 off amazon. They seem to work well. I learned that the meat one has to be all the way into the meat. Unlike some probes that measure at just the tip. I found this out by comparing the readings with a reliable instant read I have.

Here's what we smoked tonight: ABTs, Ribs, ham hocks, and hot Italian sausages:

Man thats another great looking smoke!  I hope to get a good amount of smoking in this weekend.  Last weekend was the first weekend I haven't smoked since the last week of 2016.

Welcome
Good looking stuff. The probe is a game changer, makes it so much easier and more consistent.
You'll find tons of good info and plenty of inspiration here
Good luck and enjoy
