Okay,

Since there is no dedicated forum for hot dogs (and rightly so) I thought I would post this here.

This is tonight's supper...based on the latest SMF newsletter - spiral cut hotdogs.

Now mine are no where near as pretty as Jeff's, but what the heck.

Here they are prior to cooking with a generous layer of my favorite rub.

Here they are after about 2 hours in the MES at about 250*.  Like I said, not as pretty as Jeff's but I wager just as tasty!

Trevor's dawg with smoked gouda.  Boring.....

Here's mine with the same smoked gouda but also a smokey chipotle mustard, vidalia onion relish, onions, and jalepenos.  The side is smoked garlic cauliflower.

I know it's not much of a q-view, but I was having withdrawal.  I hadn't used my smoker in almost two weeks so not only does Steph have to suffer through my DTs, so do you...

Those look great,  I am making venison chili tomorrow, so I was thinking of throwing a few dawgs in the MES 30. Smoked dawgs with venison chili and cheese!  I will post some q-view tomorrow.

Thanks all!

I gotta say...venison chili sounds mighty good for the dawgs!  I might even think of smoking my venison before making the chili!!!!! Thanks for the idea.

Awesome Toby...thanks for contributing!

Our dawgs tasted great but Steph wakes me up in the middle of the night and says "Those were the best hot dogs I've ever had but I can never eat them again!"  Acid reflux....

Those look fun and tasty. There's a lot of super delicious fancy food you can bbq , but there's always something about that old fashioned hot dog that people never tire of. I will never turn my nose up at a grilled dawg!

I am a big fan of hot dogs and sausage. Love the spiral cut. Those are looking mighty good. Smothered in wolf brand Chile, onions and cheese. Great photos to. Thanks. CF

Thems nice dogs. Di ya put a stick thru em to do the spiral cut?

dirtsailor, those octodogs look pretty neat! I'll have to make some of those for my 3 yr old grandson next week.

I made him some of the spiral cut dogs on the grill and he loved those.
