OK, got my ABTs all ready to go.

My question is: Do you have to smoke 'em in a vertical position? I haven't broken down and gotten one of those jalapeno smokers because I hate single-use kitchen tools.

But if I smoke 'em on their sides, do I risk having the filling expand and seep out all over the inside of my GOSM?

Also, I'm thinging 250 degrees for about 60-90 mins. Am I right?

Doug some folks out there slit them length ways and fill them-and if you prop them up right the won't ooze out to bad-and ya I also drilled 7/8th holes in a pie tin-works great-but make sure you de burr the holes with somthing.

DB,

I have seen something on here before where people used toothpicks? or maybe skewers? cut in half?.....then the ABT's rested between the grates or something like that. Someone has posted pics here before.

I prefer them cut it half. Easier to clean, plus you can use TWO Lil Smokies

Sure you might lose alittle of the cream cheese, but if you mix it will some of the heavier cheeses, it hold together rather well.

Last time I did them, I used kitchen twine and tied them up by the toothpicks from the bottom of my racks. Not quite as quick and easy as holder, but it was cheap and it worked. Should have snapped a picture quick I guess.
