After joining the forum, and realizing how much I learned here, I became a premier member.... Now, I think that membership has run out.....

I want to renew it and can't find the prompt to let me renew my premier membership....

I am still learning so much here and feel this forum has more to offer than all the books written, (let alone their cost),I want to support the site....

I even turned off advertising to see if I could locate it..... I know I'm getting old, but kee riminey..... I'm probably looking right at it and missing it.....

When you find it, paste it in the window for me....    Dave

Now you have me curious...I still have 4 months before this year is up...but I am wondering if renewal is automatic or by notification...I often wonder why more people don't become premier members considering the benefits of membership far out weigh the less than $2 a month cost...JJ

ok.. here's the deal in a nutshell:

Our old system would try to automatically renew unless you cancelled the subscription. This was any memberships that were paid previous to May 24th of 2010. The new system does not automatically renew, I think it may send out a reminder but it's up to you to pay it again if you choose to.

We do have a few folks who were brought over from the old system and are still showing as subscribed but the membership has actually since expired. This was an error in the system and I need to take care of these soon but until then, enjoy the freebie

The correct link (as posted already) for acquiring the membership is:

http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/payment.php

The payment options are:
 • 1 year ($15)
 • 2 years($25)
 • 3 years ($40)
 • 99 years ($100)
Being a Premier Member gives you a few perks but it also gives you the sense of satisfaction that you are supporting a good thing.

The perks right off the top of my head are:
 • Ability to use a custom user title below your username on every post
 • Ability to add commercial or outbound links in your signature
 • Ad free browsing (must be turned off manually in your profile area)
Please let me know if you have any further questions about this and if I don't know, I will find it out and get back with you.

I want to send a money order for the membership. Would I contact Jeff for the info? Thanks

You can definitely send a money order if you like and I will set you up manually. Send me a PM or email when you are ready to do this and I will reply with the correct mailing address.

I couldn't agree more.  There is SO much great info here and the help you get when a question is asked is terrific.  I became a premier member after about a week of cruising the forum.  Great forum and a great deal.

The old memberships were setup through Paypal and renew every year unless you physically cancel them. The new ones that we've been doing for about the last couple of years will remind you to pay the fee but it does nothing unless you do. I like that a lot better..

I'm not sure why it didn't hit last year but it should have. I am more than happy to refund the subscription payment if you'd like me to.

I knew within six months of finding this site I was a "Lifer".

I signed up for the "99" years. The priceless info on this site pays back double!

Just sayin'

Thanks for the info and the question!

I am due.  Now to check the old farts' budget for the month?  New mattress set, tags for the truck, Memorial Day flowers...

I will get there!

Good luck and good smoking.
