Something that I've noticed on a few members posts is their membership banner under their name but I didn't make the connection till now:

If you have both these under your name you've obviously paid for the lifetime membership but you are still paying for a recurring membership whether it be annual,2 year or 3 year.I know that I used to pay annually and it was automatically renewed every year.You had to cancel the recurring membership and in my case I paid with Paypal and had to cancel it thru them.

Apparently it did occur to me a couple of years ago:

PSA... If you upgraded to Lifetime Premier while having an active membership and used PayPal to pay you will in affect have two memberships,upgrading does not cancel the lower tier membership.My original 1 year membership auto renewed today even though I'm lifetime,you must disable autopay...

Yeah, I was subscribed for the yearly subscription when I upgraded to lifetime.

Didn't take me long to figure out why I had both banners. I had to go into my recurring yearly subscription payment method and unsubscribe to the recurring payment for the yearly renewal.

Yes I caught that to but decided to continue to support the site yearly because the lifetime membership I payed for was small one time and a steal of a deal. I’m just being supportive to the site in my own way.

Nothing at all wrong with members like SmokinEdge who want to, and are able to pay the yearly on top of being lifetime, but there is definitely a glitch when you upgrade to lifetime. Your yearly subscription is still active.
