Saw an episode of DD&D a couple weeks ago that featured a place reasonably near me that was run by a Jersey native and had pork roll on the menu. I thought this would be my chance to try what Bear had talked about in the past. Alas, I learned that the place had closed since the episode had first aired.

Had that happened to me twice for Smoked Meat places:
One in Coopersburg, PA closed before I found out about it, and one in East Greenville, PA--Same thing.
Neither of these made it to be on TV though.

That is a great plate Bear! The Mrs won't let me bring bologna in the house much less fry it! I'll see if I can find pork roll, I've never heard of it.

Nice looking meal. I don't think I have ever seen pork roll around here. Kind of reminds me of spam. You need to open a restaurant...I'll be your best customer!!:D:D

Thank You Denny!!
I love both Spam & Pork Roll, but they're totally different.
I would actually rather have Spam with Eggs for Breakfast, but I'd rather have Pork Roll Sammies than Spam Sams.
I think the closest thing to Pork Roll would be a good Bologna FRIED.
PA Dutch Ring Bologna is awesome Fried!!
And Thanks for the Like.

No snow yet thank goodness - just lots of smoke from the fires and relatively warm temperatures with almost no rain.

I wish I could give all you guys some of our rain!!!
We had more than I've seen since 1969, and that was in the Mekong Delta!!!

Bear,

On my travels though PA, I have stopped at Dietrich's Meats & Country Store in Krumsville just off I-78. Doesn't appear to be too far from you. Have you been there and more important, have you tried their pork roll? It's different from the NJ Taylor Ham but I found it to be really good. They also have really good bacon.

I have been there many times & have tried many things they Smoke, however I never tried their Pork Roll.
Thanks for the Tip---I will try that next time my Son goes there.

Funny Story:
We got one of my Son's deer turned into 100% Deer Sticks---"88 pounds".
When I ran out, I almost cried. Then about 3 months later I found a pack buried in the back of the freezer.
It was like Christmas Time again !!!!
