I like cherry in the mix, helps give good color.Hickory or post oak are fits for just about everything. But I am quite partial to Pecan wood for ribs

Are you burning splits or chunks? Chunks can be had at lowes, walmart and Home depot. Splits might be tougher and need to be mail ordered unless you can find them local.thanks guys!

I second, the cherry and apple!I smoke almost 100% with cherry and apple. I do want to add some hickory this year.
