Last night, while the wife had gone to babysit 3 of our grandkids, I found a package of pork cutlets in the freezer and decided to make them for supper. I tried a root beer marinade, with some brown sugar, onion and garlic powder and a little pepper. Left in the bag for about 4 hours, then onto the smoker at a very low 190*, with a added smoke tube. Just wanted to get some smoke on them and not cook them too fast.

Using my favorite mug, made a mix with some root beer schnapps and some of the root beer not used in the marinade. yeah, I like sweet drinks!

Missing a photo, but after a little over a hour I put the cutlets into a foil pan with apple juice, apple cider vinegar and butter. covered the pan with foil and let it go on the grill , now up to 225* for about 2 hours. Wanted them very tender, to help with my bad teeth problems at the moment.

Got some B sized yellow potatoes and put them on the sidekick on the camp chef.

After taking out of the foiled pan, put back onto the smoker with a little bbq sauce on them, let them go for about 30 minutes more to set up the sauce

Plated up with some potato salad, macaroni salad, the yellow potatos with butter and pepper and the pork cutlets. they turned out good, very tender and still moist , even after a lot of cooking.

Thanks for looking!

They look great and I LOVE the cup lol. Did the root beer flavor come through in the finish? I’ve seen people do root beer pulled pork.
