My daughter and family are coming tomorrow for lunch so I decided to smoke a butt today.
It went on at 9:30. Untrusty Rusty was finicky at first but now it's settled in at 260 - 280...

Got a couple of sides planned but that's for tomorrow....

Old rusty will do a fine job betting it will be some good stuff

Looks to be a fine time in store Mose! Sounds like a lot of folks are firing up their offsets this weekend. I'm going to wheel my SQ36 into position today for a rack of spares tomorrow. RAY

Im thinking its the weather is just right for patio setting and watching the smoker. God knows its gonna be hot and humid here soon enough!

Hell Jim, in a couple of months it'll get up around 110º here every day, I love it! Oh, but it is a dry heat! RAY

@sawhorseray man i'll take that high dry heat over the sauna we get down here. Loved my time in New Mexico and Nevada a few years ago.

Dry heat shmy heat ( I know you're joking). It's heat. I spent a week in Phoenix in July several years ago for a job and couldn't believe anyone would settle there.
The week on the West coast of Florida in August wasn't much better. I guess you get acclimated to it, but I'll stay in the Midwest/ Ohio Valley thank you!

I was a union carpenter for 34 years, I'd never live here as a working man! There's a prescription for enjoying life out here in the desert during the summer months, do this for 15 minutes, a half dozen times a day. I really do love it here Mose, honest!

Yeah Mose, I spent four days in Houston in the middle of July and it was the absolute worst time of my life, sweating like a pig. I used to hate the heat and would spend all day in a freezing duck blind. Now I hate the cold and spend all day in the pool with my dog. Life happens. RAY
