Alot of people on here buy wood by the box for 20 or 40 dollars? Find some orchard and pay these kind of prices 175$ for a cord.

Come home split into chunks and have wood for a few years for smoking.

Just a thought if someone was in northern California...

Yep... good way to get wood. Another great idea if you live in an area with a lot of fruit orchards is to talk to the farms and see if any of them rotate their orchards. When I lived in souther Oregon, Harry and David had tons and tons of pear, peach, and apple orchards all over the place. About once every 5 or so years they would take an old orchard knock down all the trees and "rest" the orchard for 1 year. Most of the time the trees were just put in a big pile and slowly hauled off to the chipper, but if you asked you could go help yourself to a small truck load or so.
