Hi all, I'm an avid cook and gardener but I've only smoked a few items.  I have a post in the new member section asking about a smoker choice so I won't repeat it here.

I love to cook, garden and hunt.  I'm a 30 year mechanical engineer in aerospace and live in southern CA.  All I've read here has been really informative and I certainly will appreciate all your inputs.  Thanks!

They will all be along soon to welcome you to SMF . What they don't do is WARN you about all the things you are about to become addicted to !

I joined 3 years ago just looking for info on summer sausage . Now I'm curing pork loin , smoking bacon , ( belly and buck board ) all kinds of smoked nuts ,,, snacks ,, cheese you name it . Then there's the brine ,,, not to mention the Umai bags ,,, ABT's and fattys ...

Welcome , you are in for a great ride .

Welcome aboard. There are many knowledgeable members that I'm sure will reach out.
I am,also in SoCal and have been a CNC progranmmer/machinist, aerospace being a big part of my career. I am a new guy myself but will offer what I can when I can.
Enjoy.

Good evening and welcome to the forum from a nice but chilly day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of                great people with tons of information on just about everything.
