Hey guys, new to the forum here. Tons of great photos and information on here. Thanks for posting it, have learned a lot.

I am kind of a hobbist and love to cook.

Been making homemade wine about 7 years now and beer about 2.

Smoking meat about 2 years

Location: South Texas

Smoker: New Braunfuels Bandera smoker

Just refurbished my smoker, bought it on Craigslist for $50 :) but needed some work. Racks in the firebox were rusted out and broken. I welded some angle iron in the firebox to replace them and added a gas burner. Bottom rack and wheels were also beyond repair. New bottom frame was fabricated and wheels added. Stripped all the rust off of it and sprayed three heavy coats of Rust Oleum Bar B que paint on with a paint gun. It's better than new now!

Still playing with the gas burner, not sure if I like it or not.

I will add some pictures of it soon.

Welcome to the forum.. every smoked any beer? I'm not a beer drinker at all but I would almost take a little sip of that just to see what it tastes like.

I look forward to seeing some pictures of things smoked and maybe even some of your other hobbies. Sounds interesting!

Yeah, I experimented with it a little bit but decided to do the meat today using mesquite and charcoal. I probably need to get a good cast iron pot to put the wood in.
