New user in Springfield, Il. I’ve wanted a pellet grill since I first saw one several years ago. Just bought a used CharGriller. It’s really clean & looks hardly used. However, it starts up just fine but after a minute or so the heat & fan shut off. The auger continues to feed. Thinking the control board is probably bad.

Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear that your grill isn't working correctly. I don't own a pellet grill, but are you sure the fan is supposed to be on contently? Someone who using a pellet pooper will chime in soon and be of more help. Also make sure your burn pit is completely clean before starting.

Your best bet is contact customer service and walk through the problem with them .even if it is out if warranty, they can narrow it down faster for you than we can.
Welcome to the forum and hope you get to start turning out Q on it soon!

i tried to refurbish a unit that was having the same issue, no dice, if its under warranty you know ish happens... control board maybe, fan very possible, the man messing with you is definite. Stay Blessed

The fan will pulse on and off on some higher end pellet grills with PID controllers, but the Chargriller uses a very simple timer controller - the fan should be running the entire time. I would try troubleshooting the fan. It's probably a 110AC fan, so if it is, plug it into direct AC power. If it runs continuously, the controller is the problem. You can probably retro fit it with an Ortech controller for about $70. Hopefully you didn't pay too much.

Could be one (or more) of several potential issues. If the fan and heat (I'm assuming you're referring to the burner igniter) are both shutting off at the same time I would lean towards the controller as you suspect. Call customer service and see if they can help you troubleshoot. Should be easy to replace once you get the part.
