Whats up guys?

Been lurking a while and finally registered.  Love the site as it constantly keeps my mind wandering with new ideas.  I started builing my smokehouse this week and I will start a build thread on it shortly if you guys want to see it.  It is built from 1" cypress-  3X3X6' tall.  Looking forward to my first smoke and the learning curve that will follow! lol

First off welcome to SMF there David. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

What are the odds that 2 Dave's register on here same day and 12 hrs apart from same area!  I live just outside the Lehigh Valley in PA.  I hope you get the help you and I both need!

Good luck,

Welcome to SMF glad you can join us.  We are big on Pics and love to help everyone out.  Remember the only question that is dumb is one not asked.  You will not find a friendlier place to talk Que on the web.

You are going to fit in just fine.

all- thanks for the welcome!

I will certainly have questions in search of the perfect smoke.  I am still uncertain on my heat source in my smoker.  As of now, I am planning on a amazing pellet smoker for smoke while using a propane burner for heat.  I tried to design it with the flexability to allow several options to suit my needs best.....although I'm not exactly certain of  my needs yet. lol  I will post pics of the build soon (as I am almost at the half way point) shortly.  Appreciate the ideas, help and patience from the veteran smokers!
