New smoker from Arizona

Hi all my name is Shane, I'm from Buckeye AZ and am 100% new to smoking. The closest I've gotten is putting some chips in foil and putting it in my propane grill. I've been wanting a smoker for several years but just never pulled the trigger until now. I just bought a Bar-B-Chef offset smoker from Craigslist. The guy I bought it from said he only used it a handfull of times and it seems to be in pretty good shape. It has no mods as of yet, but I cant leave nothing alone so I'll read up the mod list and get to it.
