Hi all. Just posted in the Roll Call forum, but wanted to share my new purchase. I just got a new MES40 from Sams today, $299. It has the Remote Control, handle in the rear, rear wheels, interior light, meat probe, 1200w element, rear access panel to the electrical connectors & the smaller wood tray. I've read on the retro-fit kit, but want to give this a few tries before going and asking Masterbuilt for the free kit...as well as I may end up with Todd's AMNPS anyhow.

They sure look "Purdy" when they're new!!

Foil up the water pan and lower drip pan for EZ claenup

Try it out first, and see what you think

You may just get along with it "As Is"

I would order the kit right away and when you decide to make the mod you will have it on hand.  Congrats on the new toy

You will love it. And Todds AMNPS and it are the perfect combo. I will still use my chip tray for short smokes and some of the more offbeat woods I have collected though, so I'm planning to get the retro kit as well.

I received my AMNPS shortly after receiving the Retro Kit...The Kit is in a box in the hall Closet and the AMNPS is in the Smoker...I use the AMNPS 99% of the time and for the short smokes like Shrimp, the Small Pan is plenty big. If I try to add too many chips the MES Spits Fire out the loader anyway...JJ

Masterbuilt has sent out the retro kit, and I ordered the AMNPS yesterday. Can't wait to get the AMNPS and use it.
