It wasn't too bad. Have the app installed? I would play around with it. You will have some "fun". Wifi only works on 2.4Ghz band so you might have to disable 5G. Also make sure you have decent wifi strength at smoker location. Old router was weak and needed a repeater. Current one (came with the fiber) works fine as is. I did the vast majority of setup and programming without it connected to smoker. Do not leave it powered up a long time as the Auber does expect a load connected. I kept it to less than 30m.

Been PID a few years now but on a 30. Got that 40 for $100 on FB marketplace. Thanks for all the help with the tutorials and advice.
Oh I forgot lol. But yeah welcome to PID40 hahaha :P

Having seen how small the MES30 is I knew the MES40 was for me. Though I'm 1 person and rarely fill it more than half, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't do a whole rack of ribs or a whole brisket in an MES30. Here in brisket land not being able to fit a whole big ass brisket or 2 into a smoker is just blasphemy so MES40 it was the whole way :D

Those inexpensive 2nd hand MES buys are the ticket aren't they?! Congrats! Now what is your first smoke going to be??? :D

Not smoking much either but got so sick of trying to get stuff to fit in there and bending down as much. I hang stuff and even with the mod to add to a rack to very top stuff barely fit.

Probably a cured pork loin. As of late really liking my Smokefire pellet grill. MES used for cured stuff and sausage. The guys at Auber need to see a Smokefire in action. HOLY crap the Weber wifi/app is insanely good. Smokefire popping up on FBM cheap now with the Searwood out. Bet I could get a clean one for $250/300.
