I'm fairly new to the smoking scene. I live in Bismarck, ND and work at a local printing company. I have a Oklahoma Joes Highland smoker I got as a birthday gift from my wife. I've attempted 3 smokes so far, 1st was a pork butt that went terribly wrong, 2nd was a brisket for Thanksgiving that turned out good just lacked flavor from the rub & today I'm smoking a pork sirloin end roast & so far so good. It looks amazing and hopefully the tweaking to the rub pays off. I'm wondering if anyone's added the tuning plate to their Highland & if so is it worth the investment?

Welcome to the board! Starting out on smoking can be bumpy but doing is learning. Settle in and look around, ask any questions you may have. Use the Search to look up your smoker and see how people use them.

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a pretty nice day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
