Just wanted to let people know that in case I'm missing for awhile, it's only because my Lap-top went on the fritz last night.

I don't know yet what it's problem is, so I don't know how long it will be down.

I'm currently using my "iMac27", but it's too hard for me to get up the steps to the loft where that one is, so I don't do it often.

I'll be back as soon as possible, so in the mean time----Everybody Try To Behave!!!

Best to All,

Bear

Who's this Bear?  Oh, I have a Siamese cat named Kona Bear

Bear get that lap top fixed, SOON

There's got to be space to bring the I Mac somewhere easier for you to use! Not sure if you need a laptop but if it costs to much to fix and a tablet works for you the iPads are nice. Hurry back and we expect to see a bunch of back logged smokes!

Side note - memory cards and drives are cheap, so make a modest investment for the sake of backing up your files and save yourself some major frustration later. If the machine dies, the files still exist in that remote memory, depending on how recently that "snapshot" of the files was taken.

That can hurt. I had a crash 2 years ago and lost hundreds of recipes I had stored. I too need to do something about backup. Good luck...JJ

"Redundancy in critical systems" is one way to put it, or maybe consider "single point of failure" as another way. Or as auto mechanics describe replacing something like a timing belt that will surely fail eventually, you should be the one who decides when it's replaced.

I just formatted my PC 3 days ago and I am still putting files back in, had them on back ups.

We gotta behave ? :icon_eek: No fair....

Come back soon Bear, real soon !

Better yet, have Bear Jr bring that Mac down & toss a wireless option on that bad boy ! Thumbs Up

Oh boy here's my chance, I may be able to catch you on post counts!!!! Only another 7 or 8 thousands post and I'll catch ya, lol!

Howdy guys!!!

My MacBook Pro is still down, but I managed to get up the stairs again. I just gotta be real careful, because my balance isn't good, and my right leg has been numb since my Open Heart fiasco.

Still don't know what's wrong with my MacBook Pro----Could be the Hard Drive. My Son took it to get it fixed. He's the one who bought it for me for Christmas 2013.

This is the first time we needed anything fixed, since we scrapped all the PCs & got all Macs in the Network.

We had to do something, before we had to start charging our PC repairman rent, as I was starting to think he lived here!!!

I couldn't lose much, because I don't save a lot on my "MacBook Pro". I save everything on my "iMac27", and we have the "Time Capsule" on that and on Mrs Bear's "MiniMac".

And I save most of my smokes on this forum, so I can always refer to my Step by Steps on anything that's gonna be a repeat.

Later Guys,

Bear

Bear you know your not supposed to put your Mac in the MES when making Mac and Cheese. I'm sure the tech who is working on it is getting tired of picking the melted cheese from between the keys!

His Puter is still at the Doctors Office
