Mini-mod Monday!

Been a while since I've made a mid that required an actual tool. A while back I ordered several of part number 85037 from eReplacementParts.com. One for each mini pot and one for the new WSM. Installed the ones in the mini today. Wish these had been around years ago.

In order to install these you will need a 1 1/4" drill bit, I used a hole saw. Started in side then came in from the other to finish the cut. Had a small burr to sand/file (couldn't get to my file, garage needs a spring cleaning!).

I did a similar mod to my gosm earlier today. I liked it so much that I will do one in my mini next.

Yep it's the new grommet that comes on all of the new WSM's now. I've messed and fussed with all the hardware store ones so figured what the heck. Pretty slick.

I used my deburring pen from work for my probe hole

Are those probe ports flexible enough to fit to an OTG Weber? I've been thinking about just drilling a hole in the rim above the grill ring for probes.

I don't see why not you can bend them in half.

I've been looking for a way to do that with my MES, but I'm just not sure about the insulation in the walls.  Any suggestions??

If I didn't have the vents to go through I would have used the grommets
I think that is a slick way to go.
