Picked up some Filet Mignon at $11 a lb to grill tonight. Also picked up some wild caught jumbo shrimp at $10 a lb to grill tomorrow. Picked up half a beef tenderloin to smoke soon at $10 a lb. I shop the circulars and find the best cuts to smoke. Why should I splurge on a brisket when I can find better cuts to smoke around the same price? I shop the sales and when I see Top Round for $3 per lb I snag it for some nice tender barbecue beef that smokes in half the time of a brisket.
