I have a big offset I build myself but for smaller cooks I've been thinking about going with an electric. I have a big Chief but even with the hotplate mod I steel can't seem to get over 170°f. So I have been looking and all the different features is getting a bit hard to keep up with. I am leaning towards the mes base model, for price and simplicity. I just want it for a single rack, abts, or a small for me and the wife and the little one. Like I said I have the wood burner for the big cooks.

Any help would be great. And I'm trying to stay under 200.

Comin around fathers day they always have MESs on sale, if a guy watched you could probably find a new one for around $200, maybe less.

Good luck!

Witch MES do y'all like the best I'm finding them from 150 up to about 400. Glass doors and not, digital and analog settings can someone give me some pros and cons.

Thanks for the help guys but I gave the mods on the Big Chief some tweaking and was able to hit 220 with a but in it. And 247 with just abts. So I'm happy with that for now.
