Okra!!! Never knew it would grow here. I guess it likes sandy loamy soil, which is what we have!
Currently have two nice 8"-10" long Zucchinis ready to pick
In the last week we've picked a couple hundred of these guys.
Yep we'll be harvesting the zuch tomorrow! Maybe a smoked quiche would be tasty! It's been a tough season for us. The tomato plants still don't have anything on them. Last year we had hundreds of tomatoes by now. We've have one head of lettuce and a few heads of spinach, don't have a clue what happened to the rest we planted! No sign of the carrots eitherNice! That Zucchini looks like it's about ready to start crankin out the squash!I didn't get to plant my garden this year so I am living vicariously through everyone else's photos! I will be back with a vengeance next year though!
Oh there's plenty of weeds!!!! We've harvested more weeds than edibles!Gorgeous! Yummmmmmm
No weeds either! giggle

Do the tomatoes have any blossoms on them? Is that a fence to keep critters out in your first pic? How long has it been since you sowed the carrot seed?Yep we'll be harvesting the zuch tomorrow! No blossoms yet!!! My mom's plants (across) town already have green tomatoes! We just aren't sure whats going on this year! Last year we had so many we had to can them!Do the tomatoes have any blossoms on them? Is that a fence to keep critters out in your first pic? How long has it been since you sowed the carrot seed?
Fortunately no other critters in the yard besides the dogs. This year we got a late start so I think that is why we don't have any blossoms yet. Hopefully by September we'll have something!Nice dogs Case! That's odd you have no blossoms!!I was gonna suggest maybe deer had eaten your spinach - they love it in my area - but with the fence that probably didn't happen without you finding evidence...
I'm majorly impressed at your okra crop! If your house design/fisherman/gourmet chef and smoker/dashing man-about-town gigs fall through, looks like you could fall back on being an okra farmer!
Wow, okra. I have always stayed away from growing it but you may inspire me to give it a try. I have this love of gumbo and frozen okra is all I've had available.
Great looking garden!
