I like to fry them and then finish them in some homemade sauce for a few hours. Them make subs/hoagies/grinders/po' boys out of them with peppers and cheese or just throw over some pasta. They are great with scrambled eggs and green peppers too.
Sausage parm hoggies (prep the sausage like Alelover said first then use the sauce for the parm hoggie), sausage with fried peppers and onions... sausage with polenta and beans.......
The uses are endless. Al gave ya a good list, and also made me hungry lol
When I do sausages in the beer I add onion and a touch of caraway seed bring it to a boil turn off heat add sausage and let them soak for couple hours, then brown them up on the grill.
Uncased, I do like to incorporate a % of italian sausage with beef into wonderful meatballs. Then just add garlic, breadcrumbs (or soaked hunks), parmesan, basil, onion, plenty of S&P, eggs to bind and a generous dollop of your favortie sauce & you'll have some very nice polpette di carne fresca!
