Instant Pot Ham Hock and Bean Soup

I googled ham and bean soup and this is the result. I stuck pretty close to the original recipe authored by Sandy Clifton. Many thanks Sandy, your soup is fantastic.

Looks great Colin ! That Fricks ham is awesome . You ever get the Bologna or braunschweiger ?
The plant is about an hour from me . I can buy the hams , turkey and other stuff local .
Got to love an instant pot for stuff like this .

Yes, it's all good stuff. I get it at HyVee. What I like most is it's not too salty like so many other brands. That ham was great in this soup. My wife went on and on about it. We both ate more than we should have and will be having leftovers tomorrow evening. Took a big bowl of soup and some corn bread to our widow neighbor and she loved it also. Nice...cant beat a good pot of ham and beans!

Been making mine in the pressure cooker ever since my stepson gave us the Zavor Lux several years ago. We usually get a couple spiral hams around Easter and Christmas when they go on sale and we break them down and foodsaver and freeze slices and chunks to eat on for the rest of the year; so I usually have 3 or 4 meaty ham-bones (lots of meat intentionally left on) per year to do this with.

Senate Ham and Bean soup as made for the US Senate is my favorite recipe.
It is also what I use to get people started using an Instant Pot for making soup as it is so easy and quick.
