Take a dollar store fork (5 for $1)...

Cut the handle off, round the cut end with a dremel. Then make a wide bevel on the rounded end you just made so it will slide under the string easy and won't nick the casing. Drill a 3/16" hole on the wide top end for the twine. be sure to clean up the sharp edges of the hole. volia! Done!

Oh- and put a bend about 3/4" from the rounded end to make it easier to work with....I used channel lock pliers to make the bend.
