Grilled some Hoffmans and some Glaziers for the 4th of July.

Both on a roll with hot mustard, dill relish and horseradish.

The Glaziers took first place, with 100%(2/2) voters choosing them over the Hoffmans!

I really do like the Glaziers.

Nice............I don't think either one is available on the west coast. The Hoffman's look like a white sausage. Are they along the style of a banger?

They are "Hofmann's German Style Frankfurters in natural casing".

its a shame, the closet thing we can get in S Florida is Ball park Grill masters. Still better than regular grocery store brand etc.

I'll take your judging crew word on this.
Back in my hotdog eating days I tried a lot of regional labels.
Never been far enough east to try the old labels.
My favorite settled on the Costco dinner frank as I lived on the west coast for many years.

They're both good. Though, I'm a Zweigle's fan. Hebrew national jumbo. Glaziers makes really good pickled sausages too.
I have a jar of their pickled sausage in the fridge. Their pickled eggs are delicious as well. Haven't had a Zweigles since I lived in Batavia NY.

I repeated the side by side this evening...

Just dogs, kraut and mustard on a toasted bun...

According to participants, Glazier beat Hoffmann again.....

I’m supposed to stay away from processed meats, but every so often a chili dog just sounds so good.
We seem to always have Nathan’s, but for as few as I eat not sure what is better that’s available here (E. NC … Harris Teeter, Publix, Food Lion). If nothing great there, and if they were available to ship in, what would be your recommendations?

You might look for Hofmanns. They went national a few years ago. I'm pretty sure you can get Glaziers shipped. Edit: They do ship. Here is the link -

Thanks! I did go to their online store, but shipping is kinda prohibitive in small quantities. Guess I will search my stores more closely.

Not sure exactly where you're at , but I'm thinking you have to have some local options .
Quick search of Publix in Fayetteville shows
Hoffman
Sahlens
Sabbrett
3 That I've heard of , and have had the Sahlens . Chef JJ used to talk those up .
They had others that looked interesting too .
Check your Publix , or search the brand with your zip code .

Edit , Sometimes the brands will pay up to have their own displays or sections . So they might not always be in with the other brands . Make sure to check the Deli section also .
