Had many hot dogs from a hibachi when i was a youngster. Dad used one for many yrs.
Thanks for the memory's. Thumbs Up

The Lodge is a pretty neat little cooker; a modern production of a design manufactured in the first half of the 20th century. The cooking grid can be reversed so as to change the distance from the fuel by about a whopping one whole inch.

We use ours frequently for grilling satays, and here-and-there a T-bone.

Hey B, Hope it brings you many hours of fun and good food too.

Please tell us what you think of it.

It looks great in the pictures, I kinda want one too.

Be just right for me and Mrs. gear.

Will do Ed.  Should be fun. Teri and I first met in 1977.  The Hibachi throwback should be fun. Maybe we will get a fondu pot next!!! Brian

I Thank You for that Honor!!

Mrs Bear was with me there too, in Killeen (Kilgore Street) for my last 7 months until my ETS of May 15, 1971.

Bear
I hope you enjoyed your time here my good friend. Brian

Those are a flashback for sure! They do seem smaller today than I remember them though. I almost bought one for my daughter last year (she asked for one) and in my search I found the "Son-Of-A-Hibachi" instead. If you haven't seen it before, check it out! I love the fire blanket case it goes in too.

Awesome looking unit  Thanks for the suggestion! B

Keep posted for more memories. Heck I might even wear a 70s highly flammable polyester shirt while grilling! B

Wait you don't own a fondue pot???

Dude how have you survived all these years??

Christmas Eve family tradition for us is cheese fondue and Dungeness crab.

Guess if I had a hibachi we could add T-bones to that tradition too!

Ours is a fIne avocado green!
That is exactly what I was going to post. When I was a kid, my parents used to have avocado-green-equipment fondue parties at our house.....and everyone walked around on the dark green shag carpet, no less! I had to vacuum and then rake, RAKE, that darned carpet every Saturday morning. During these parties, dad and some of the men would usually migrate outside and fire up the small, round cast iron hibachi that dad brought back from Korea, which did not excite mom, much. That thing lasted all the way up until a couple years ago when my wide accidentally backed over it with a diesel truck.

I feel that everyone should own a hibachi, maybe just not in avocado green. Now electric can openers, on the other hand.........

I HATED raking the carpet!  This thread is bringing back the horror of my childhood!

LOL...   The tracking number says it will be delivered tomorrow!  Christmas is coming early.  I hope to post a review and first burn tomorrow if the little unit arrives in time for dinner!

I knew it slow boat from China!

I ordered a book on Amazon a few weeks ago. Being Prime Members it was coming 2 day free shipping. Amazon used Ontrac, which must mean on the wrong track to somewhere else. Day of delivery the tracking update said out for delivery. It said that for 4 days. I ordered the book to take on a trip with us. Of course it arrived the day we left, several hours after we left. And Ontrac for whatever reason leaves the packages right in front of the garage door for the whole world to see... Did I mention that it was raining too. Thankfully we were able to get my SIL to stop by and rescue the book. GEEZ!!!!

if you are a stick / charcoal burner, it'd be a nice thing to have off to the side with a a chimney full of briquets sitting on it turning grey,

and using them when you need to add some more heat to the smoker.

Yes sir. Stick Burner, Flame Thrower, Charcoal, Plug In... Like many here I've got em all. Good idea about another use for the little unit.  But first Im going to take Case's advise and toss a couple steaks on it.

...that is if it ever gets here! b
