hi im Ewan from Scotland

just getting into smoking and building a wooden smoker just now. been meaning to do it for years

Hi Ewan. Welcome to the forum. As you will see from here people have made smokers out of almost everything imaginable - even old cardboard boxes. The wooden smoker sounds great - please post up photos as it gets built.

im making it out of a pine frame with t&g on the sides its not very big maby 3ft high 18" square but have hit a few problems with what to use to connect the fire box to it

Hello the noo Ewan ! Wickes do an aluminium flexible tube for ducting tumble driers and cooker hoods, I think it's around 4"/100mm diameter. Although I haven't used it on a smoker I have used it where a bit of heat was involved and it stood up well.

I was thinking about that stuff I saw it in b&q the other day its a lot cheaper than using 3" exhaust pipe that was my other idea

You have come to the right place to learn about smoking. I haven't built a smoker myself but there is a whole section on builds and lots of good people who will share their experiences.

Hi Ewan, welcome to the mad house, be sure to ask lots of questions as everybody has a different answer, (not sure if that's good or bad)! Lot of good advice for us beginners.
