Hello all,
I live in the suburbs of Philly and have a WSM 18" and a Bradley Smoker I grabbed on sale. I really enjoy the WSM but as the family grows, "easier" options are more intriguing to me. I have not been impressed with the Bradley but really appreciate how easy it is. Additionally my gas grill is essentially shot, and not looking to put any money in it for repairs. So I'm currently thinking two different routes:
- Karubecue (KBQ) C-60 and a high end gas grill
OR
- High end pellet grill with searing/grilling capabilities

There's some potential issues with the open flame/fire part of the C-60 where I live, so I'm likely going to end up with option 2. My initial research has me looking at:
- Mak 1 Star (w/ FlameZone)
- Mak 2 Star
- Yoder YS640
- Memphis Advantage
- Cookshack PG500

So I'll be heading over to the Pellet forum for some more advice once I decide on my max budget and hopefully have a new toy soon!

Welcome aboard from a fellow newbie! I'm waiting for my Mgrills M1 to arrive. I just went through the same process with budget and what would be the best bang for my buck. I was between a Cookshack and a Hasty Bake Legacy. I considered Yoder S640 but I ruled that one out. My brother in law uses a MAK 2 star and loves it, but I decided to go charcoal/stick-burner rather than pellet-pooper. Good luck and keep us posted!

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum from a partly sunny and warm day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
