Hello from the new kid on the block

  1. I'm originally from Allentown PA, I spent a few years in Sheridan Wyoming but now live in Raleigh NC. I'm new to the smoking world (3 months).I enjoy all types of cooking and I've been making and stuffing my own fresh sausage for many years which now I will be able to expand on and start making smoked sausage as well. I'm using a Masterbuilt XL propane smoker with a few additions like a cast iron wood pan and I use large disposable foil pans as my water pan along with a Redi Chek Maverick wireless thermometer set. I've been smoking every weekend since I got the smoker and have had some excellent results, often due to advice I got from this website. 2 of the things I've smoked were some homemade beef sticks and salmon fillets, I shared these with some co-workers who thought I should seriously consider going into the business myself. I've never been a member of a forum before,I'm looking forward to building some relationships around the love of smoking meat. Kicker

[IMG]to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "SMF User Guidlines" .....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per TulsaJeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
