  1. Hi all!

I bought a Traeger Lil Tex (or Colt 45 as it was called then) about ten years ago and never looked back.

I've used it mostly for grilling, but then one Thanksgiving I bought the pellet hopper extension and smoked a turkey.  It was delicious, but tasted like ham!  I really wanted the taste of smoked turkey, not ham!

Recently I've smoked some pulled pork and my first brisket, and they turned out great.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot here!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

Here is the proper way to post Q-view or photos here at SMF. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/125263/how-to-upload-a-photo-q-view-to-your-post

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Hello fellow Canadian. Allow me to say, go Riders. I am a BC fan but you have to love Rider Nation.

I only started smoking last fall and I didn't have much success until I found this forum. I have had my questions answered, been given great advice and have found dozens of smoking projects I want to try.

I really suggest you try posting some of your projects with pictures and descriptions. You will get a lot of advice and suggestions.

    Welcome to the forum!
