After a couple of months enjoying this website, and of course looking at all ideas having to do with reverse flow smokers, I figured it was time to introduce myself. I,m Mike from medford. I am a contractor and do an awful lot of bathroom and kitchen remodels and build whenever I can in this economy.
I am in the process of constructing 2 RF smokers on a trailer. "Dual RF Smokers on a trailer, my first adventure". I got interested in smoking meat from watching Pitmasters. I then started scouring the web for a smoker. I was absolutely amazed at the cost of a trailer mounted smoker. Web searching led me to this website.
I am really new at smoking meat, but thus far have bat a homerun on every recipe. I have taken many recipes to heart and tried a bunch. How wonderfuly fulfilling I have found this. I am amazed at the amount of people that are asking me to cook for them. It's like I'm living the stories I have read of people coming out of the woodwork when the weekend comes and my smoker fires up.
I have to say I have a slight edge because my brother owns the most reputable butcher shop here in Southern Oregon. His problem is he is so busy he can't begin to meet the demands. When he finally came and saw my smokers at my granite shop last weekend his words were "Holy Crap!" He then asked if I could imagine them outside of his shop on the weekend smoking away. Of course I can. I have visions of Franklin BBQ out of texas. If it's not good then I don't want to do it.
I want to thank every person who has commented on my blogs. I have learned a college education in just a short time from this website. I hope by being detailed with my build that it helps others in their build. I know that the replies from others has been a truly awesome inspiration to continue and get better at this newly found interest in life. It is most deffinately addicting.
