Hamburger Steak (Qview)

    I have these quite often and thought i would share them with my buddies.

    Started with 1 # of 80/20, then added, garlic powder, chopped onion, worsty,, salt, and cbp.

    I smoked them @ 250º for 1½ - 2 hours with RO lump and pecan.

    Then tossed into a pan of Brown Gravy to simmer.

    All plated up and ready for dinner [​IMG]

    Wow!  A blast from the '60's!

    I haven't heard of a Hamburger Steak for years!

    I want one of those!

    thats a nice healthy looking dinner   all the food groups, meat, gravy ,bread, potatoes, veggies     what more could you want?

    Like my "partners in smoke" said.......it's a 60's meal with a kiss of smoke [​IMG]

    Actually, I have to tell a story here.  Not that anyone asked.

    I worked in a restaurant that sold a dinner called a "Waistliner".

    Simple.  1/2 pound hamburger steak.  Served with a garni of a leaf of lettuce, scoop of cottage cheese, three tomato slices, two spears of asparagus.

    It was a diet meal because there were no potatoes.  Get it?  [​IMG]

    I didn't design the plate, I just made it!  [​IMG]

    But it helped me get through school.

    Great recipe Merv, the next time i smoke these I'm gonna use your "Waistliner" recipe and see if i can make the carousel!!  [​IMG]

  13. That looks really good and something I haven't had in years. Thinking I'll give them a try with elk burger and mushroom gravy this weekend. Thanks for the idea

  19. That looks delish Rap. I make Salisbury Steak on a occasion.  I need to try that method. What's the crusty potato looking substance on the side? It looks really tasty.

    That looks great thanks for posting it up will have to give these a try. 

    It's new to me, lol  I was mfg'ed in 76[​IMG]  but my mom used to wrap bacon around some burger and it was tasty[​IMG]
