Grinder Stuffing

Some have asked how easy it is to use a grinder for stuffing?

Easy when you have the right tools.

The Cabelas grinder with the cyclone stuffing auger and needle.

The plastic auger snaps to the front of your metal auger.

Seat your auger into the motor and the needle tube fits over the cyclone.

The following i did this past summer on 10 lbs of sticks .

I wrap a frozen sports wrap around the neck of the grinder to keep the heat down. Dont put your grinder neck in the freezer. Freezing and thawing can weaken the metal and cause stress fractures.

Good pointers NEPAS.... I especially like the freezer note about the grinder... and the "multistage" Auger.... that is a cool accessory...

Thanks for tips. Just started looking into buying one but don't have a clue what to look for. Seen some for $100 and some for $300. I would be thankful for any help on brand, size , how much to spend, for a newb at sausage making

X2    Your stuffer looks to be on the bigger side? Im trying to talk my wife into one that is being sold at lowes, I believe its a Waring? It's around 100. I'm sure it gonna be a bear

Vertical is still easier and faster. The grinder like this is good if its all you have.

I went to my local Cabela's store here on the west coast in Olympia, Wash. and asked about it and they knew nothing at all about it, had no idea what I was even talking about.

If possable, would you post the model number or any other means of identifing the grinder / cyclone stuffer. The sales person said if I had a model number etc. where ever it came from they could order it.

I don't believe Cabelas sells it (the 10mm High-Speed Stuffing Funnel and high-Speed Plastic Auger) as a separate catalog item. They are packaged with the grinders and they do have part numbers so I'm sure they can be purchased. Unfortunately I dont have immediate access to that info at the moment.

Sweet. I don't have that extra auger on my grinder so it royally sucks trying to use it as a stuffer.

Yeah unless the Cabelas outfitter is not versed on the cyclone tube and cant figure out it only comes with their grinders then they wont know.

I have it for my 8 and 12 grinders.

Allied Kenco has them.

I see it on the kenco web site, I am looking at buying a bigger grinder, Mine is a starter grinder my son gave me, its a #5 and hardly any attachmentsa will fit it, so I am going to use it for the power source for my CVabela's meat mixer and buy a larger grinder.
