Anything you wanna know about my cooking is high praise from you g'sir.

Cast Iron Onions
I like to sear my beef and venison over very high heat in my 12" cast iron skillet.
I usually use EVOO and let the meat and it's herbs/spices season the pan for the onions.
Once the meat is finished I take 1/2"+ thick slices of onion and caramelize both sides in the pan.
They very quickly gain a very nice color and seasoning which leaves the center of the slice with plenty of crunch.
I like my onions and other vegetables to have a nice bite to them.

Looks tasty!
Wonderful plate Chile!
Yummyness for sure

I'm in! I have grilled onions and cooked them in CI but usually cut them thinner than this. Thanks for the idea!

Leave it to you to make a basic meat & potatoes meal special. You got me with the garlic butter steak! I’m guessing the asparagus got the same treatment?
Nothing goes in a frying pan here without onions

Thanks.
Asparagus was brushed with garlic butter before/after broiling, it also got some Lawry's Seasoned Salt.
