There's a new world record hot pepper, the Pepper X, coming in at 2,693,000 Scoville Heat Units. Created right here in SC by the guy who brought us the Carolina Reaper, Ed Currie, the owner of Puckerbutt Pepper Company and certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. It is 3 times hotter than the Carolina Reaper, that's just ridiculously hot. Can't wait to see what Jeff, @jcam222, can do with those things...

I don't think he has released seed to the public yet. There are a few people claiming to sell the seeds but he's been clear they don't have it. I mentioned in another thread Ed attends my neighbors Dad's pepper gathering here in Ohio last week of Sept. I was invited this year but had a conflict. He is the same grower that bred the Reaper as well. At 2.7M Scoville it sure won't take many to kick things up a notch lol.

I have some Carolina Reaper powder that has a heck of a kick.
Can't imagine how hot that stuff will be.

Ed is one of only 5 people who have eaten an X. Hours of pain and cramps...
Did you read his background? Recovering alcoholic / addict. He gets a huge endorphin high off eating the peppers. Folks not used to it ( self included)have a real chance of anaphylactic shock from eating one.

I love me some hot stuff but that is just madness. Top end for me is habanero. My youngest ate a whole one around 5 or 6 and thought they were those small sweet ones. These are a little spicy she said. They went into the beer fridge after that...

I really debated liking this comment, because I didn't want people to read my like the wrong way.

Live long and prosper Charles.

Chris
I don't know you personally, but I know you better than that...:emoji_wink:

This guy can't be serious. What's his price for knocking family members off.
