My virgin smoke. When I asked what my first smoke should be, the general consensus was a pork butt. I have to say, the 14 hour smoke was more gratifying than I expected and came out much better than I expected for a first smoke. Taste was great. Not a bit dry. Pulled product had a great mix of color with from the bark, the smoke ring, and the meat. Thanks to all of you on the forum that have helped me in my research to get started. I'm grateful. All of you and this forum are a tremendous resource! Was done on a WSM.

Congrats Benny it looks great. Personally I would have suggested chicken for a fist smoke pretty easy and not as long a smoke

Great looking cook for your first timeout. That bark looks fantastic. Those WSM units are solid performers for sure. Nicely done. :emoji_cat: :emoji_cat:

Great job looks amazing. Glad you did a pork butt. Gave you time to play around with the smoker and get things figured out.

Awesome first cook especially with starting out with a pork butt I agree with Piney chicken would be my suggestion to start. Now where is my sammie?
