Hello, I'm new the smoking community and have gain some much needed confidence thanks to this forum, I posted my first smoking attempt of a fattie a few days ago without heading to roll call first, sorry I guess I was a little overzealous. I currently live in Charleston, SC by way of serving in the Coast Guard, but am originally from Syracuse, NY. My head is spinning with all the possibilities of things to attempt and what I would like to try and perfect......at least to my wife's liking. Not to mention all the cool gadgets and tools to learn how to use. Thanks again for wealth of information this forum provides and I look forward to learning more and sharing my experiences as well.

Do pork butts a couple times.. those turn out ok normally.. pulled pork.

I agree with rings r us pork butt/shoulder is easy and very forgiving plus it gives plenty of time to learn your smoker. Welcome to the forum. I've learned a lot on here you will enjoy it I should have joined years ago instead of waiting as long as I did
