I have had this double oven for 20 years. It is still in great condition but the ovens have both stopped working (I have had it repaired twice before). The 5 gas burners on top all work well. I have bought a replacement cooker so was thinking of putting this in my backyard where I could use the burners, and was planning to convert the side by side ovens in to a smoker of some kind. I've zero smoker experience but think this should work... Firebox in the small oven with the meat in the large oven. Some holes to allow smoke to flow and vent. Any advice, or even rough plans from someone who has done this before would be appreciated.

Dang that looks like a good oven. No idea if it would work or not but would love to see it. Cool idea for sure. Wonder what a live fire would do to the inside? Might have to line it with something. Others in here will have some good thoughts. Hope it works though.

Yes it was expensive 20 years ago and still looks great as my wife has really looked after it well (I am bad at cleaning)...it owes me nothing so was thinking of shifting it to the covered outdoor area I have where I can still use the burners, and thought converting the ovens to an outdoor smoker could be a very cool project as I love smoked meat but have never had a smoker. I already have a BBQ out there so this would really complete the set up nicely.
