So, after my initial issues with my Masterbuilt MES440/s smoker, I smoked another monster pork butt.
Winn_Dixie had butts for $.99 last weekend, so grabbed some. In fact a 22 pounder.

Started te 8 AM and at 8 PM decided it was time to pull them, wrap them, and throw them in the oven. IT was about 160.
I wasn't planning on being up past midnight. Well, at midnight, I pulled the one at 200 degrees, and the other one at 12:30 at 195 degrees. I needed to be on the first tee at 7 AM.

So what to do? I wrapped them in 4 layers of foil and a towel. Threw them in the cooler, and hoped for the best. Came home at 1 PM an opened the cooler. It was hot inside with lots of humidity.

Pulled the first butt out, and temped it. 146 degrees. This is after 13 hours in the cooler. Started pulling it and some of the pieces were hotter than I could comfortably handle.

Pulled the second one, and temped it, and it too was 145 degrees. Pulled it, and it was great.

Just one pictures of the the second butt. The wife had already started pulling the first one.
