In celebration of our first weekend as empty nesters I decided to make a special Sunday dinner for just Rebecca and I.
Coated a couple of Ribeyes in olive oil and gave them a liberal coating of SPOAG. Slices of homemade bread for toast and some fresh shitake mushrooms from the local farmers market.
Steaks on, and shrooms into the hot cast iron with olive oil.
Bread on for toasting.
The assembly. Steak on the toast with some truffle butter Rebecca made. Mushrooms on the side and some tomatoes.
All the juices and butter are soaked up by the toast. No flavor was lost in the eating of this meal!
For dessert a glass of homemade coffee liquor.
