I disagree.
My question was more rhetorical in nature.
Natural gas is cheap enough and efficient enough to make electrical generation economically feasible aka profitable.

Has anyone tried/used the madein brand? Seems like their products get pretty good reviews, prices are a little lower than hexclad. 30% or so?

We bought the 12 piece Hexclad set then added the deep pan. LOVE THEM! the best cookware I have ever owned. Worth every penny and then some. Their customer service is insanely good too. One small pot looked like one of the "dots" had fallen off. So i sent a pick just to see what would happen - they had a replacement in the mail same day no questions.

From the write up sandy added I'm all in Hex and now that they have their new TerraBond out (and has been for a while) I think I'm ALL THE WAY in now.....

I haven't seen the brands posted so can't comment on them but if you like them and they work well then they work!

PS, I have always been one to go to the kitchen section and look at the new pan sets ALL the time....since getting the Hex......well I haven't even been in a kitchen section or looked online for any..... As I noted in the review we still have our 3 ply stainless set (AL core) NEVER giving these up and they will NEVER wear out, then the Hex and a couple non-sticks for eggs, however, the new Hex may replace those so it will be down to just Mrs Civils non-stick oatmeal 1 qt pot.....

Seemed decent quality. Downside is not compatible with induction.

On the packaging it says "Induction". I thought of you immediately when I saw it.

I love cooking with gas. But our silly b!tch NY governor. Is trying to ban gas appliances. It's on hold now.

yeah she sucks....only thing worse is the incoming NYC mayor! Thankfully I am not in NYC. I love natural gas cooking that I have here in NY. The propane cooking I have in the PA house is horrible, slow, slow, slow. I will go induction on my next house down south.

A magnet does stick to it. So it can be used on a induction cooktop.

Keep a extended warranty on the induction stoves costs a lot to have them fixed, I use a induction plate thats 110v, it works great and you can believe that induction is quucker than gas, also will spoil you setting temp to simmer gently and it not boiling over looking for the sweet spot lol

Another induction fan here (after being a long-time gas fan). Had to replace a lot of cookware, but I like the responsiveness and even heating.

I'm curious if all of your new cookware is induction ready. I haven't looked at Granitestone in a number of years since we got our GreenPan both north and south. Lucked out they are the induction compatible
WE have the radiant range top here in FL. Bought a Duxtop counter top induction unit. Range is rarely used anymore. Induction heats faster and cools faster than gas.
My wife loves it
Induction is NOT less expensive than either LPG or natural gas for energy consumption. But if you are electric only it beats the radiant or coil top units.

The box for the main set wasn't marked with induction, in fact it doesn't even say what oven's its compatible with which is odd.

Then the griddle showed up yesterday afternoon. It's marked for everything but induction. How strange.

I had my heart set on this Tramontina Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl set with blue accents but it was completely sold out. I scoured the net high and far and nothing.

So I settled on this Viking set and it comes with a stainless steel colander.

I think the last thing on my list is a matching utensil set and I'm done for quite awhile.

Just bought an Oxo obsidian pan to try out. I was able to do eggs on it right out of the box. Pretty darn impressive. I don’t use any nonstick pans anymore and moving to smaller and lighter than most of my cast iron. If only it was made here…. My worst carbon pan is one Made something.. whatever factory protectant was on it was a nightmare. Have stripped it twice and still doesn’t hold a good finish. Only carbon/cast pan I have ever had trouble with.

I have long had my eye on Gordon Ramsey's Hexclad cookware set. I've been desperately needing a quality set of pots and pans for my kitchen. I've been using garage sale and family hand me downs for years.

This morning I chose to punt on the Hexclad idea after reading this on reddit. This just saved me $1,000 at least and a lot of headache too.



Hexclad is also the source of a major lawsuit regarding teflon and PFAS.

In the long list of comments I saw someone posted a video review about the top cookware.



After watching the video, rewinding a few times and reading the grades and comparing I settled on a new Granitestone Diamond cookset. I got the blue set off Amazon for $199 ($210 out the door with free shipping). For that price, I'm elated with the quantity of what I got as well as the quality. I could have gotten the black speckle set for $30 less but I'm a sucker for blue so I said why not. Merry [early] Christmas to me.

Granitestone had the best grades across the charts, best no stick, best even heat distribution and the best hardness of the finish/no scratch. No PFOA, no PFAS, No PFOS and no teflon.

I wish they had cookie trays and bread trays sold separately so I could add several of each but oh well nothing is ever perfect or 100% the way you want it.

Anyways, I'm totally excited about the new set.

We have had our hex clad for I guees two years or more and we really enjoy them. I just ordered a new set of their steak knives as well. I will be keeping an eye out if any of them start to tear up but all I know it's nearly impossible to buy anything with 100% positive reviews

Don't y'all have carbon steel and cast iron skillets? If my Noni didn't use it at home or in the family restaurant, I don't need it at home, is how I try to decide what to buy.
But then again, Noni could've out cooked most people just using her one old beat up knife, and a C.I. skillet.

It's funny what we think we need to prepare good food these days.
