I’m afraid I would not be able to behave as a responsible adult around that stuff!!

Looks amazing David!

Thank you, it was really good,

And just because we are growing older, does not mean we have to act grown up, Just saying . lol

Love pears! And that looks delish!
Years ago were renting a house with a pear tree... oh man we're they good! Later on we moved onto the farm we decided we needed a pear tree, so we bought one... took a few years for it to grow, but year after year... no fruit. But it's beautiful when it blooms! Then one day while walking through a nursery I spot a pear tree... but, what's this? An ornamental pear tree! I was so mad! Finally realized we had planted an ornamental pear tree... I never knew they had such a thing! Too bad you can't eat beautiful. We did plant another one, and got a few pears from it, before it got taken out by a storm. We're cursed!

We just ( Mona ) used up the last of this years Pears.
Guy at river asked me about doing some pear shine. Not to sure about that? Hard to find ripe pears around here. I took some of that Apple Pie I started couple months ago. Wow is that some kind of good!

I’m sorry for you’re bad luck Ryan, but I’m still chuckling a little…😁
Me too!
Good news is a bunch of suckers have grown around it... we just need to decide which one to make the main one. Would like to try and transplant some of the others... if it's possible .

@DRKsmoking Huge fan of pears but have never baked with them. That needs to change!!! Looks stellar! Straight up or little spice in there?

Have not had anytime to get over there in weeks and since then those dang weeds in my parents garden have just COMPLETELY taken it over! :emoji_laughing:

Yes it was fantastic , Mona followed a recipe she found in Companys Coming book

And I was corrected it is called " Pear Streusel Pie " The only thing she changed was she added 1/4 tea of cinnamon with the ginger and suger and flour mix at the top of the recipe.

Posting it below.

I think Pear shine would be good , not sure how much you would need , but if you find some . They rippen very fast once indoors.

And I bet your Apple pie shine is great.

Pear trees are pretty hardy, The one I had most of the pears on this year , was planted about 10 years ago . 2 years after that my neighbor snapped it in half about 3/4 of the way up when he pushed his snow way too far into my yard that year. so I just gug/pulled it up and through it behind one of my sheds.
went and got another one and the guy asked what happened to the first one, told him and he said just clean up the break and replant it . It took about 4 years of not any extra care more then I give all my fruit trees . And this year it was the best producer.

Also get some rooting hormone powder and dip the suckers into it and plant them , you might be surprized.

I feel your pain, I did this with a crab apple tree, I like making pickled crab apples . So a bought a real nice crabapple tree first year here when I bought all my fruit trees ..... and It is a very pretty tree , BUT it is just a flowering Crab Apple , so shiiiit happens.
