Cooking a brisket advice on approx time

Hi, I have a masterbuilt electric smoker and I am cooking a brisket for the very first time in it. I have the 30" smoker and the brisket is to big to fit on one rack. It's a 14 lb brisket.

My question is if I cut it in half, do I still cook based on 14lb brisket (1.5 hrs per pound) or base it on 7 lb brisket even though there is 2 of them in the smoker? I know it's really based on internal temp of approx 190-200 but wanted to make sure I had an idea of the time.

I really appreciate any help and advice you can give me.

It's based on the weight of the largest piece.

So 2 - 7 lb. pieces would take approx. 14 hours @ 2 hours per pound.

Thanks Al!

2 hours per pound and what temp do you recommend I set the electic smoker on? Some people inject the brisket and some just use rub. What do you recommend? I am having the entire family over so I want to insure I get it right.
