Greetings all! Believe it or not, I have never done chicken wings. Bought some yesterday and decided to give it a try. Went on YouTube to see how there done on a Weber Kettle. Lots had the Vortex. Got to get one of those. Since I didn’t have one I just went indirect with a big chunk of Hickory. Love that Hickory wood aroma. Dusted heavy with Killer Hogs (works on everything) then threw em on at 300 for 1.5 hours then slapped on some Kinders sugar free jalapeño BBQ sauce. Left em on for another 10 minutes till the sauce set. Dang good as you can see. Take care and keep on smoking!!

I need to get some Wings going. I was wondering how many you planned to feed? I have to plan around my kids. I make wings when it's just me and Momma! I'd need a couple more kettles to feed the whole crew...JJ

Yupper some great looking wings there guy. When is the next batch they are great to snack on while doing long cooks.

Nice job on those wings Hawg. The Vortex will cut the cooking time in half. I do full wings in about 35 to 40 minutes.

Point for sure

Only put on one pack since first time incase I burned em up Hahahaha.

The vortex is a wing making machine, but we still like to smoke them for about 1 1/2 hours at 225, then onto a hot grill to crisp them up. Finally tossing them in a bowl of Frank’s Buffalo wing sauce & melted butter. But I have to say your method & wings look darn good to me!
