Chicken Leg Quarters on the “Q”

I’m not real big on Bird Meat, but Mrs Bear loves it, and I don’t mind making & eating some now & then.
This is the first time we got “Perdue” Leg Quarters, and they tasted Great, however it seemed like they were cut off the chickens with a Chainsaw.
The little slivers & pieces of bone all over the back sides of the thighs told me I always kept my Chainsaw chains sharper than the folks at Perdue keep theirs.

Well anyway, Mrs Bear didn’t want any Smoke again, so she baked them awhile to get the insides done, and I took over on my Weber “Q”.
This is a process we’ve been using for ages, and if you aren’t allowed to Smoke them, this is definitely a Great way to go.

Mrs Bear made some Mashed Taters & Peas for sides, and we topped the Taters off with some Campbell’s Cream of Chicken Soup, as we usually do.

The second day Mrs Bear went to Lunch with her Boss (Our Son), and brought me her leftover Steak Fries in a Doggy Bag, to go with my Leftover Chicken & a Pickled Egg.

Thanks again for stopping by,

Bear

ON EDIT: I forgot to mention these were only 58 Cents per pound!!

There it is guys!!! The last Remnant of the total of +7' of Snow we've had this year:

No wonder the chicken was buzzed sawed....I mean gee look at the egg....lol...just kidding....I think they use some sort of mechanical shears to cut them up which may mash the bones rather than cut them...
Or maybe its more the person wielding them...I don't know but it can sure be irritating.
But your end product looks delicious.

Dang, I could go for a plate of that right now. Looks pretty darn good to me

Wow bear!

I love quarters! Best part of the bird! I regularly get them for 39¢ a pound from my guy and buy 40 pounds at a time. We crush quarters at my place and the farm all year long. Yours look great!

I have to say a egg pickled in beet juice is one of my favorite things in the world! Great job, great meal my friend!

Looks good . I agree best parts of the chicken . I like the soup on the taters , gonna try that. Had Perdue whole birds .89 cents a lb here . I stocked up .

Nothing like Que'ed yard bird!

Nice to see the snow is gone!

Thank You Zippy!!
Yup---Hopefully that's all the Snow.
It actually hit 82° today & the last square foot of snow left this morning.
And Thanks for the Like.

I think it was a one armed guy with a Dull Chainsaw.
Betting all of my chainsaws are sharper than theirs.

Looks like a fine plate of eats Bear. I prefer grilling chicken to smoking it.

Point for sure.

Thank You Scott!!
These were 58 cents a pound, which is the cheapest I've seen around here for Years.
And Mrs Bear is trained to put some HB Eggs in the jar every time she gets the last Red Beet out.

I think leg quarters are my favorite piece on the chicken and yours look delicious!
Al

Thank You Al.
My favorite are Thighs, and Mrs Bear likes Drums.
I think we'll go back to buying "Drums & Thighs", instead of these "Perdue" Quarters, because we really didn't like the bone pieces all over the back of the thighs.

That's what I did . Seems all the quarters I bought had very sharp bone fragments .

Those 1/4s look darn good John.
I'm with you all the way on chicken. I swear I've eaten more yardbird in the 15 years Miss Linda and I've been together than in all the years I've been walking around. But what can I say--she loves them so I just shut up and eat them.
BTW thise pink eggs really add a splash of color to the plate. LOL
Gary

Looks good brother John I think I am out of leg quarters & chicken sausage have to fix that.Likes
