Here's part of a quote from Kroger in an article about inflation:

"Cincinnati-based Kroger Co....says inflation is running hotter than management previously anticipated and that expectations are now for prices to rise 2% to 3% over the second half of this year."

It isn't going to be getting any better anytime soon, I'm afraid. I'll have to catch and eat more fish, I guess...

I think they missed a timeline.
I expect inflation to be 3% per month based on what I am seeing.

My smoker is jus' sittin' there idle.
Last 6 lbs COSTCO brisket was $6.99 lb, now lucky to find one.

Oddly Kroger ran a 2.99/lb sale this week. they had 4 to pick from, 2 - 10lb'ers and the 75 dollar one was still there mis marked.

I grabbed one for thirty and ran for it. freezer couldn't hold more -sadly.

Today our local City Market (owned by Kroger) has brisket for 8.99 pound. Just dumb, but they do service Telluride ski resort (about 60 miles away) so maybe it will sell.
On a different note, live beef can be bought all around here for 2.00 pound live weight, problem is not many folks understand that’s where beef cuts come from.
