Does it really make a difference to use soda or other liquids instead of water?
just been wondering about that?
I love this site!!!!
and by the way a lot of people seem to ay its hard to control the temp on this smoker and i say they are wrong i can control it good just have to babysit it more

Some people claim you can add some flavor to meats you smoke by placing other liquids or adding other liquids to the water, but if it does, it is minimal. Better to inject or rub you flavor into the meat instead.

If you use the bottom rack, it might add little more flavor, but usually not worth the effort. Yes you can control the temp, but you need a calibrated therm at rack level, and you do need to watch it more often. You didn't mention if it is a gas or charcoal smoker, but if it's a gas version, you need to be very careful when adding water/liquid once the smoker is hot.

I have heard of it and I have tried it on my smoker (Gosm) and I have found no differance in flavor or anywhere.

yea i am wondering if its worth paying for the soda, its a charcoal smoker by the way
