Got my first egg from my chickens this morning.....

Had some of my bacon, Brides Zucchini bread, the home grown egg and one from the store.... and some French Bread....

First ever home grown egg for me... They are Sooooooooooooooo good... AND, how good is the bacon.... well, most of you know the answer to that..... AWESOME ...

Brides Z Bread, is heaven....

Which egg is home grown ????????

Dandy plate there.

Yup, I say the left.   Nice dark yolk.

Looks great Dave. Fresh eggs are the best :yahoo:

I am going to have to try smoking bacon. Oh, the egg on the left is from your chicken. Even if I didn't know (I haven't eaten store-bought eggs in years), I'd just side with c farmer...a farmer is going to know!

Home grown egg on the left... Zuc bread at the top of the plate...

That, my friends, is the "Breakfast of Champions"...

Store bought eggs are off of our shopping list. We have 18 laying hens.

Store bought eggs are so much paler and have those runny whites when you crack them open. And it's amazing how long eggs can be stored before the store gets them - MONTHS!

Our eggs are never more than about a week old when we eat them and the extras get sold at work very quickly.

Looks like a nice breakfast!

Terrific looking breakfast, Dave. Love that you're doing your own eggs.

Will you have to compost the manure before using? I hear chicken manure is quite strong.

Cool, Post some pictures of your chickens, run etc.  Breakfast looks great

Thanks Gary...... that thing took me 5 months to build..... Of course the last 2 months were mostly in the 100's.... 2 hours in the morning and I was done....

Hey I understand, We were lucky here this year no days over a 100.  But still plenty hot, I have to do a little take a break, cool off and do a little more, couldn't hang working all day anymore.

You stuff looks great.   If I wasn't in the city limits  I would have me a few chickens.
